My ATi X800’s fan died and thankfully I was in the room at the time to catch it before it melted down. I dropped by CompUSA and got a Zalman copper-fin cooler, but I had to remove its brace to fit it in my G5 tower. Also, Apple only supplies one Molex connector per tower, and that goes to the Superdrive. This means I need to a) take the thermal paste I bought back to the store, and b) pick up a y-adaptor for the fan. No optical drive for me until that happens, and even then it’s going to be a really tight fit. Apple and their non-functional aesthetics, sheesh.
