Wired’s comments on iPhone

Gear Factor have a five-point list of issues with the iPhone.

  1. Cingular isn’t just the US’s largest network, it’s the only one on GSM, the de facto international standard by numbers.
  2. 8gb flash is small, yes. Give em a break, it’s the first generation. It’s 8x the size of my shuffle, so I can’t give this one much credit.
  3. Built in battery is a problem. I do not, however change my battery or even own a second one. I don’t know of many people who do, beside people who bore me and everyone else with their dreadful public conversations. Like, you know?
  4. No 3G. GSM/EDGE is the current market worldwide. It’s “2.5G” as some put it.
  5. Building a QUERTY keyboard in is nice, but why not include a “send” and “end/power” button too? A “go” button? A “911″ button? Sometimes less is more. Also, with all of the various methods that have come out over the years, I’d imagine this would be a hackable element.

I only really agree with number 3 because it is a limiting factor, but since I don’t really swap batteries, I don’t get it.
