Gear Factor have a five-point list of issues with the iPhone.
- Cingular isn’t just the US’s largest network, it’s the only one on GSM, the de facto international standard by numbers.
- 8gb flash is small, yes. Give em a break, it’s the first generation. It’s 8x the size of my shuffle, so I can’t give this one much credit.
- Built in battery is a problem. I do not, however change my battery or even own a second one. I don’t know of many people who do, beside people who bore me and everyone else with their dreadful public conversations. Like, you know?
- No 3G. GSM/EDGE is the current market worldwide. It’s “2.5G” as some put it.
- Building a QUERTY keyboard in is nice, but why not include a “send” and “end/power” button too? A “go” button? A “911″ button? Sometimes less is more. Also, with all of the various methods that have come out over the years, I’d imagine this would be a hackable element.
I only really agree with number 3 because it is a limiting factor, but since I don’t really swap batteries, I don’t get it.
